Jacques RENOIR

As an adolescent, finds himself inevitably immersed in the world of imagery,being the grandson of Auguste and nephew of Jean Renoir.
National Photographic and Cinematographic Ecole Louis Lumière, Paris.
Assistant and cameraman on feature films with Vadim, Claude Sautet, Stanley Donen, Lewis Gilbert etc.
From 1968 to 1975, he travels all over the world as cameraman and director for Jacques Cousteau and receives 4 nominations and 2 US TV Emmy awards.
- As a reporter, he covers major events in the Lebanon, Bangladesh and North Korea.
- Director of Photography on films and TV Fiction and Director of short films.
In between commissions, writes biographical novel based on his family, entitled ‘Le Tableau Amoureux’, published by Fayard.
His passion has always been photography, reserving for future use images encountered in the course of his travels, taking advantage of his frequent visits to artists’ studios and finding his own unique form of expression very close to painting in works such as his series based on the lacerated posters in the Paris Métro.
